Roles and responsibilities The selected candidate shall work with MPD’s Quality Assurance team to identify and resolve data quality issues related to a large legacy data conversion project. The selected candidate should be able to analyze and document rules provided by the business team and design ETL objects to implement and verify them. This candidate will spend a major portion of his/her time writing complex SQL queries to analyze and resolve legacy data quality issues in a data conversion project. This candidate must be meticulous in all project tasks. The candidate must have strong verbal skills and must be able to communicate with non-technical people. He/she must also be able to write clear explanations of complex topics, as much of MPD’s correspondence is handled through e-mail.

Required Qualifications:
• Strong SQL querying knowledge of SQL Server 2005 and above
• Strong SQL querying knowledge of Oracle 10g and above
• Basic knowledge of performance tuning of long-running SQL queries using Oracle & SQL Server
• Must have worked on Informatica 8.6.1 or 9.x.
• At least 6 years experience working with Informatica Power Center
• Strong knowledge in design, development, testing, and implementation of ETL jobs in Informatica Power Center
• Working knowledge of ETL processes and Informatica Best Practices based on industry standards
• Ability to gather business requirements from a business team and transform them into functional requirements
• Ability to map source-to-target elements, design and develop transformation processes to load data from source to target, and develop and tune Informatica mappings and sessions
• Extensive knowledge in performance tuning, surrogate key assignments and partitioning techniques
• Understanding of Data Quality in OLTP systems and Business Intelligence environments
• Complete working knowledge of SDLC lifecycle model
• Understanding of change management and production support processes
• Ability to prepare implementation and contingency plans for supported applications
• Strong communication skills as well as ability to independently work with Business Analysts
• Working knowledge of logical and physical data modeling techniques.
• Working knowledge of data comparison and text editing tools like Exam-Diff, Beyond Compare and Edit
• Experience with Windows / Linux automation scripting knowledge
• Ability to be a team player and be pro-active,
• Demonstrated ability to set weekly goals and deliver on them

Preferred qualifications:
• Experience in Windows and Linux
• Certifications in SQL server, Oracle and Informatica
• Experience automating data validation processes in data conversion projects
• Experience in Unix CRON scheduler or other scheduling tools knowledge
• Experience with SharePoint desired
• Experience with Microsoft Project
