During your internship you will have the opportunity to earn Digital Badges which recognise and evidence your progress as a teaching intern. On this page you can earn your the GTS QTSlite Gold badge.

This badge recognizes achievements and skills gained while working as part of the Graduate Teaching Scheme. This badge is aligned to the Teachers' Standards and recognizes progress towards Standards 5 - 8.

Holders of this badge are well placed to continue developing their professional practice within the framework of a programme that leads to Qualified Teacher Status.

There are THREE missions to complete in order to earn the QTSlite Gold Badge.

Mission 1 -
Assess your progress against areas of professional teacher practice
In each of the selection boxes below, choose the option which best reflects your progress to date where:

  • No Experience = you have not engaged in this type or work during your internship
  • Red = you feel you need additional support and mentoring to facilitate your progress
  • Amber = you feel you have made some progress with more work to do
  • Green = you are happy with your progress and your performance

Mission 2 - Write a brief improvement plan
Select TWO or THREE RED selections and describe specific actions you can take to improve your confidence and competence in these areas. You should justify the selected actions by explaining why you plan to do them and what outcome you hope to achieve.

Mission 3 - Create and load evidence of your professional practice
Select TWO GREEN areas of professional practice and create a piece of evidence that demonstrates your confidence and competence in this area. Evidence might be:

  • A lesson plan or scheme of work*
  • Critical Reflection - Template*
  • Prompt Sheet (for observations) - Template*
  • A learning resource
  • Video voxbox or interview
  • Certificates of attendance/completion

  *Your school may well have standard templates that they would like to use. Check with your mentor and use school templates where preferred.
